The county has issued a temporary ban on all fireworks due to current fire danger and dry conditions (Archuleta County Stage One Fire Restrictions). This includes personal fireworks of any kind, even small sparklers. Discharging, using or possessing illegal fireworks can result in fines ranging from $300. to $1,000. In addition, up to 10 days in jail.
Please help keep our community safe by respecting the ban and spreading the word to friends, visitors, and anyone planning celebrations. Local officials will lift the restriction once conditions improve.
